A tenant check-out is conducted at the end of a tenancy agreement, when the tenant vacates the rental property. During this process, an inspection of the property is thoroughly inspected, assessing its condition and compared to the initial inventory report. Any discrepancies, damages, or wear and tear observed during the check-out are noted and documented for further action.
This documentation is essential for resolving disputes and determining the return of the tenant's security deposit. Additionally, the check-out process allows the landlord to identify any maintenance or repair work required before the next tenancy begins. Overall, the tenant check-out is a fundamental step in the rental process, promoting fairness, clarity, and efficient property management for both landlords and tenants.
Katie will visit the rental property at the end of the tenancy, either with or without the tenant present. The property will be inspected throughout and a note is made of any differences between the present condition of the property and that described on the Inventory Report.
Where possible, meter readings will be taken and if the tenant is present, Katie can accept the return of the property’s keys on behalf of the Agent/Landlord.
The Check-Out Report will be sent to the Agent/Landlord within 48 hours via email.
